Delete your MealLoop account and data

If you can sign in, you can delete your account and all associated data yourself, with immediate effect:

1. Open your profile. On the web, choose My Profile and scroll to the Danger zone. In the Android app, go to More → Profile and scroll to the bottom.
2. Choose Delete account….
3. Review the warning, type DELETE to confirm, and confirm the deletion. Your account, data, and photos are removed immediately. Any active subscription is cancelled immediately, without a refund for the rest of the period.

If you can no longer sign in (for example because you lost access to your Google account), email us instead:

1. Send the email from the same address you use to sign in to MealLoop (your Google account email). This lets us verify that the request is yours.
2. We confirm the request and verify ownership of the account.
3. We permanently delete your account and associated data as described below, and email you to confirm once it is complete.

We permanently delete the data associated with your MealLoop account, including:

• Account and sign-in details: your name, email address, Google account ID, profile image, sign-in sessions, and sign-in tokens.
• Profile and health inputs used for nutrition targets: date of birth, sex, weight, height, and activity level.
• Nutrition goals, preferences, and onboarding settings.
• Content you created: meal baskets, recipes (including imported recipes, translations, and public recipe pages), ingredient mappings, custom foods, favorite recipes and meals, and pantry items.
• Diary entries and custom diary sections, meal plans, and shopping lists.
• Recipe photos you uploaded, including photos you never saved to a recipe.
• Group memberships and the items you shared into a group.
• How you found MealLoop, your recipe import records, and your meal-photo usage counts.
• MealLoop's billing records for your account, your Stripe customer record, and any subscription.
• Your mobile testing registration, if you joined the testing list with the email address of your account.

Deleting your account also removes your published recipe pages. Independent recipe copies that other users saved before deletion remain in those users’ accounts because they are separate records.

• If you are the only member of a group, the group is deleted. Otherwise you leave it, and if you were its only admin, the member who has been in the group longest becomes admin.
• Meal baskets and shopping lists you own are deleted, including items other members added to them. Meals you added to other members' baskets are removed.
• If you pay for a Family plan, it ends immediately for the whole group.
• Other members' diary entries, plans, and recipes that referred to your recipes or custom foods keep the details already saved in them, but are no longer linked to yours.

Deleting your account also removes a testing registration made with the same email address. Registrations are otherwise deleted 12 months after you last signed up. You do not need a MealLoop account to join the mobile testing list, so to remove a registration sooner, or one made with another address, email kontakt@mealloop.me from the address you registered and ask us to remove it. We will verify and complete the request within 30 days.

After deletion we keep only limited data that we need or are required to retain:

• Anonymised security log entries: your account ID, IP address, and browser details are removed from them when you delete your account, and the entries are deleted after 12 months. The deletion itself is recorded without any of your details.
• Server error logs, which our hosting provider keeps for a short period.
• Residual copies in encrypted database backups, which are overwritten within 90 days of deletion.
• If you bought a paid plan, payment and invoice records that Stripe keeps in our account for as long as accounting law requires.
