Delete your MealLoop account and data

MealLoop is a nutrition and meal-planning app. This page explains how to request deletion of your MealLoop account and the personal data associated with it, what we delete, what we may keep, and for how long.

How to ask

Delete your account in the app yourself, or email us if you can no longer sign in.

What we delete

Your account, profile, health inputs, content, and photos.

Timeframe

Immediate when you delete in the app; within 30 days for verified email requests.

Delete directly in the app (fastest)

If you can sign in, you can delete your account and all associated data yourself, with immediate effect:

  1. Open MealLoop and go to Profile (in the Android app: the Profile tab; on the web: Dashboard → Profile).
  2. Scroll to the Danger zone section and choose Delete account.
  3. Review the warning, type DELETE to confirm, and confirm the deletion. Your account, data, and photos are removed immediately, and any active subscription is cancelled.

Request deletion by email

If you can no longer sign in (for example you lost access to your Google account), email us instead:

Subject line: Delete my MealLoop account

  1. Send the email from the same address you use to sign in to MealLoop (your Google account email). This lets us verify that the request is yours.
  2. We confirm the request and verify ownership of the account.
  3. We permanently delete your account and associated data as described below, and email you to confirm once it is complete.

What we delete

On a verified request we permanently delete the data associated with your MealLoop account, including:

  • Account and sign-in details (name, email address, Google provider ID, and profile image).
  • Profile and health inputs used for nutrition targets: date of birth, sex, weight, height, and activity level.
  • Nutrition goals and personalisation/onboarding settings.
  • Content you created: recipes, imported recipes, public recipe URLs, ingredient mappings, custom foods, favorite meals, and pantry items.
  • Diary entries, meal plans, and shopping lists.
  • Uploaded recipe photos.
  • Group/household memberships and the items you shared into a group.

Deleting your account also revokes its published recipe pages. Independent recipe copies that other users saved before deletion remain in those users' accounts because they are separate records.

Delete a mobile testing registration

You do not need a MealLoop account to join the mobile testing list. To remove a testing registration, email kontakt@librepartner.no from the address you registered and ask us to remove it. We will verify and complete the request within 30 days.

What we may retain, and for how long

After deletion we keep only the limited data we are required or permitted to retain:

  • Billing and transaction records (plan, invoices, and related identifiers) where we are legally required to keep them for accounting and tax purposes — retained for up to 5 years, then deleted.
  • Limited security, fraud-prevention, and error logs needed to operate the service — kept for a short period and then purged.
  • Residual copies in encrypted backups — automatically overwritten within 90 days of deletion.

Timeframe

We complete account and data deletion within 30 days of a verified request. Residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten within 90 days. Records we are legally required to keep (such as billing and tax records) are retained for the period required by law and then deleted.
