Terms of Service

The terms for using MealLoop

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MealLoop web app and mobile apps for recipes, meal planning, diary logging, nutrition targets, shopping lists, and household collaboration. By creating an account or using MealLoop, you agree to these Terms.

Last updated August 24, 2026

Your account

You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account and data at any time.

Subscriptions

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe, and you can manage or cancel your plan from Billing.

Your content

Recipes, diary entries, photos, and other content you add stay yours. We only host and process them to run MealLoop for you.

1. Who can use MealLoop

You must be at least 13 years old to use MealLoop. If you use MealLoop on behalf of a household or family group, you confirm that the other members have agreed to share their content within that group.

To use most features you need an account, which you create by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping that sign-in method secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

2. The service

MealLoop provides tools for storing recipes, planning meals, logging food in a diary, tracking nutrition against targets, building shopping lists, and sharing those things with a household group. Feature availability can differ between the web app, the mobile apps, and between free and paid plans.

We are continuously improving MealLoop and may add, change, or remove features. If we discontinue a material part of the service, we will give you reasonable advance notice where practical.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis and renew automatically until you cancel. Payment processing is handled by Stripe; MealLoop does not store full payment card numbers.

  • Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and is not renewed afterwards.
  • Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods.
  • Price changes. We may change plan prices. Price changes apply from your next renewal, and we will inform you in advance.
  • Plan limits. Free and paid plans include usage limits (for example AI recipe import quotas or group features). We may enforce these limits technically.

4. Your content

  • You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, diary entries, and other content you create or upload.
  • You give MealLoop a limited licence to store, process, display, and back up that content solely to operate and improve the service for you and the people you share with.
  • If you share content into a household group, other members of that group can see and use it inside MealLoop until it is unshared or deleted.
  • If you publish a recipe, you give MealLoop permission to display it on a public, searchable page until you unpublish it. Anyone can read that page, and signed-in MealLoop users may save an independent copy to their own account.
  • Unpublishing revokes the public MealLoop URL but does not delete copies already saved by other users or immediately remove search-engine caches.
  • If you import or publish a recipe from a website, video, or another source, you are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to store and share that content, including its images.

5. Acceptable use

  • Don't use MealLoop for anything unlawful, or upload content you don't have the right to share.
  • Don't attempt to break, overload, probe, or bypass security or plan limits of the service.
  • Don't scrape, resell, or redistribute the service or its food and nutrition databases.
  • Don't upload content that is harmful, infringing, hateful, or that contains malware.
  • Don't misuse AI-assisted features, for example to generate content unrelated to recipes and nutrition.
  • Don't share your sign-in or use another person's account without permission.

6. Health and nutrition disclaimer

MealLoop provides nutrition information, calculated targets, and tracking tools for general informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, and MealLoop is not a medical device or a substitute for professional advice from a doctor or registered dietitian.

Nutrition values come from public food databases, user-entered data, and AI-assisted matching or meal-photo estimation, and can be incomplete or inaccurate. A photo cannot reliably show hidden ingredients, preparation method, allergens, or exact portion weight. Always verify information that matters for your health, and consult a qualified professional before making significant dietary changes, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or manage allergies or intolerances.

7. AI-assisted features

Features such as recipe import, ingredient mapping, and optional meal-photo estimates use third-party AI services to process the text, links, or images you provide. AI output can contain mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing imported recipes, mapped ingredients, visible food components, portion estimates, and the resulting nutrition data before relying on or saving them.

Meal-photo estimation is limited to 20 requests per account per UTC day. MealLoop may adjust or enforce feature limits to protect availability and prevent misuse. The source meal photo is not saved by MealLoop; only the structured estimate you choose to save becomes part of your diary.

8. MealLoop's intellectual property

MealLoop, including its apps, design, branding, and software, is owned by the MealLoop team and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you any right to use the MealLoop name, logo, or code except as needed to use the service normally.

9. Third-party services

MealLoop relies on third-party services such as Google for sign-in, Stripe for payments, and hosting, storage, and AI providers to operate features. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Recipes you import from third-party websites remain subject to those websites' terms.

10. Ending your account

You can stop using MealLoop at any time and can request deletion of your account and associated data as described on our account & data deletion page.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the service or its users. Where reasonable, we will notify you and give you a chance to export your data. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers and liability limits) survive it.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

MealLoop is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of nutrition data, or uninterrupted availability. We recommend keeping your own copies of important recipes and data.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the MealLoop team is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing restricts mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as MealLoop evolves. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to inform you, for example inside the app or by email, before it takes effect. Continuing to use MealLoop after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. The effective date at the top of this page always shows the current version.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes are subject to the ordinary courts of Norway, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to a different venue.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to the MealLoop team at kontakt@librepartner.no. For privacy questions, see our Privacy Policy.
